Honolulu/Waikiki

by Neil McKay / Andy Cummings

I fell in love with Honolulu,
when I saw a girl with flowers in her hair
When she gave me her aloha smile,
I was glad that I could stay awhile.

I fell in love with Honolulu,
when we walked together on Waikiki sands
Watched the glowing sunset hand in hand,
felt the tradewinds caress.

And though I went away, my heart stayed on
Will she be waiting for me, will she be gone.

I’m going back to Honolulu,
to the island girl with flowers in her hair
If she’s waiting I will hold her close,
and never stray from Honolulu
In Hawaii nei.

Your tropic nights and your wonderful charms,
are ever in my memory
And I recall when I held in my arms,
an angel sweet and heavenly.

Waikiki, my whole life is empty without you
I miss the magic about you,
magic beside the sea
Magic of Waikiki.

Oh Honolulu, in Hawai‘i nei.
